Negative Ions

Negative ions are created in nature as air molecules break apart due to sunlight, radiation, and moving air and water. Negative ions are odourless, tasteless, and invisible molecules that can be found in abundance in certain environments like on mountains, waterfalls, and beaches. It is a nature’s way in cleaning the air and over 70 years of research, there is no side effects being found. There are over 5,000 related studies claiming the effectiveness of negative ions

In environments where high densities of negative ions exist, negative ions are able to reverse the charge of positive charged floating contaminants to a negative charge. This results in a magnetic attraction among the floating pollutants in the air, causing them to aggregate, or clump together. As a result, they become too heavy to remain floating in the air, and fall harmlessly to the ground. At the same time also negative ions also removes destroys viruses, bacteria and molds by damaging the protein cell membrane causing the bacteria, viruses and mold to rupture and die where they cannot find their way into your respiratory tract. At this point, even if they are inhaled before falling out of the air, these now larger particles are able to be intercepted by the "filters" of the upper respiratory tract, due to their increased size

Health and therapeutic benefits of negative ions:

Reduces sinus and allergy attacks from airborne dust and allergens
Reduces the risk of infections
Eliminates the harmful effects of tobacco smoke
Removes offensive organic odors such as from mould, fungi and bacteria
Reduces fatigue Improves recovery from strenuous physical activities.
Reduction of house dust and pollen

Economic and quality of life benefits:

Reduces monetary and time loss from illnesses
Reduces effects of Sick Building Syndrome
Improves productivity
Improves quality of family and social life
Increases alertness and concentration

For Allergies & Asthma

The prevalence of allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis and bronchial asthma has increased in recent years. This is particularly noticeable in urban areas where there are high levels of vehicle emissions. Detailed research has highlighted the connection between proximity to main roads or highways and the increased incidence of these allergic conditions¹.

Air pollutants can modify and enhance the allergic response in susceptible individuals². The presence of pollutants on the surface of these allergens appears to damage the lining of the nose and lungs, as well as inhibit the body’s cleaning mechanisms. In this way, the allergens can penetrate into the body and promote sensitization of the airways. The end result, for those who are unfortunate enough to suffer with these conditions, ranges from the inconvenience and misery of the annual hayfever season, to serious and potentially life-threatening allergic asthma that can strike at any time.

The MedKlinn Air Sterilizers can frequently help those who are affected by airborne allergens. The MedKlinn Air Sterilizers create massive amounts of these ions compared with conventional ionizers, and are therefore much more effective for treating these conditions.

Negative ions have been shown to work in three separate ways to alleviate allergic conditions:

Removing allergens from the breathing zone³
Deactivating the allergens so that they no longer provoke an allergic response⁴,⁵
Enhancing the body’s ability to clear the allergens⁶

Unlike conventional air filters that only reduce airborne allergens, negative ions are also able to denature allergens that are surface bound, even those found in bedding. Many allergic individuals get their symptoms at night or when they first wake up - this is usually due to exposure to dust mite allergens found in their pillows, bedsheets and mattresses. From our customers’ feedback, many have benefited from using the MedKlinn Air Sterilizers for these conditions, some improving even after a single night. In addition, negative ions often reduce the incidence of viral coughs and colds, which can trigger asthma attacks.

The long term use of the Air Sterilizers can therefore be doubly beneficial for allergic individuals.

For Pregnant Mothers

Pregnancy is a major milestone in any woman’s life, and usually one of great joy and anticipation of welcoming a precious new life into the world. However, for a baby to be born healthy, the mother has to be wise during the many months of the pregnancy. Doctors over the years have more or less determined what is required for the child to develop healthily in the womb – good nutrition, sufficient rest, the avoidance of cigarette smoke, alcohol and drugs.

These do’s and don’ts are particularly important during the early stages of the pregnancy, when the baby’s organ systems are developing. Any insult to the foetus at this time can result in a birth defect or an increased risk of serious disease later on in the child’s life. Unfortunately there’s an additional thing to do to ensure a healthy baby – breathe clean air! Research over the last decade has shown that breathing polluted air during pregnancy can have devastating effects on the unborn foetus.

The dangers to the baby include:
Increased risk of birth defects, especially serious heart defects¹,²
Damage to foetal chromosomes, leading to an increased risk of childhood cancers³,⁴
Increased risk of preterm birth⁵
Significantly reduced foetus size⁶

Whilst it may appear an impossible task to breathe clean air throughout a nine month pregnancy, it is not as difficult as it seems. People from the industrialized nations spend more than 90% of their time indoors⁷, so if the indoor air is clean, the risks to the unborn foetus are also significantly reduced.

The MedKlinn Air Sterilizers, with their massive negative ion generating capabilities, are especially effective in removing from the indoor environment ultra fine dust particles, the pollutant that is most toxic to the foetus. In addition, negative ions can enhance sleep, as well as protect against infections. Used throughout pregnancy and beyond, they will help reduce the dangers to your child, whilst in the womb and when he’s growing up.

For Driving

Many people enjoy driving, but these days city driving can be hazardous to your health. Caught in rush hour traffic, your vehicle becomes a haven for airborne contaminants, exhaust fumes, cigarette smoke and germs. Opening the windows ensure constant ‘fumigation’, especially if you are stuck behind a bus or truck. It’s even worse in air conditioned cars, where the polluted air trapped within is recirculated and the concentration of pollutants rises further.

New research shows that spending too much time inside the car can put your health at risk. The pollutants found within the car can adversely affect the heart and respiratory system. Research published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine concludes that prolonged exposure to polluted air could trigger potentially dangerous changes in heart function¹. In fact, when air pollution is particularly bad, studies have shown that the incidence of heart attacks and strokes is significantly higher²,³

Furthermore, later research also link people living close to major roads as being more at risk of heart disease, from faster narrowing of the coronary arteries⁴. There was an association between these narrowing and fine airborne particles called PM2.5. Since pollutants in cars are invariably higher than even by the roadside, those who spend a lot of time commuting in heavy traffic may be at even greater risk

To overcome the smell from exhaust fumes and other unpleasant in-car odours, many resort to using air fresheners and fragrances. Unfortunately, this only compounds the danger as many of the synthetic chemicals found in these fresheners and fragrances are also toxic to health. 95% of the chemicals used in these fragrances are synthetic compounds derived from petroleum, and they are capable of causing cancer, birth defects, central nervous system disorders and allergic reactions⁵.

Instead of using these harmful synthetic chemicals to mask unpleasant odours and traffic fumes, why not clean the air inside your car thoroughly with a MedKlinn Car Air Sterilizers?

The MedKlinn Car Air Sterilizer is specially designed to be used in vehicles. While you are driving, the MedKlinn Car Air Sterilizer floods the vehicle’s interior with massive amounts of negative ions. These negative ions remove pollutants such as pollen, harmful dust particles, cigarette smoke and exhaust fumes effectively, reducing the risk to health. Research has shown that exposure to negative ions is effective for reducing, as well as enhancing recovery from stress⁶.

In addition, negative ions increase alertness and concentration, enabling you to react faster in today’s dangerous driving conditions.
